Dennis Prunty Wins Habelman 100
Dennis Prunty from Lomira, WI. won the elusive Habelman 100 Saturday night at Dells Raceway Park, breaking Travis Sauters stronghold on the event for the past two years. Austin Nason and Brian Johnson Jr. brought the field to green with Johnson Jr. taking the early lead. It was to be short lived, as a caution came out on lap 2, which took out the always hard charging Frank Kreyer and the 2 time defending champion of the Habelman 100, Travis Sauter. On the restart Brian Johnson Jr. had mechanical failure and had to give up the lead and head to the pits, which gave the lead to Austin Nason. Nason held the point till lap 9, when the always hard charging driver from Montello, WI., Bobby Kendall the lead from Nason. At the halfway point of the race it was Kendall, Nathan Haseleu, Mark Eswein, Dennis Prunty and Dalton Zehr in the top five. Then with 30 laps to go it was Pruntys time to shine, as he picked his way to the front, slipping past Kendall on lap 70 and held the point all the way to victory lane and picked up the check for $3000 for the victory. Mark Eswein from Wisconsin Rapids, WI.. had a nice run, finishing second. Hasseleu was third, Kendall finished fourth and Dalton Zehr rounded out the top five.
A Big Thank You goes out to all the fine people at Habelman Brothers Company and to all the fans and race teams who came out to make the night a success.

This Saturday night we embark on the 3rd Annual Habelman Cranberry 100
"Prunty's are starting to become a name at DRP. Dennis Prunty will be returning. Dennis has had plenty of success at DRP in the Super Lates and hopes to take the big check home, as he did at the Slinger Nationals this year. His nephew, Alex Prunty, has been racing at DRP as a regular and sits 2nd in points in just his rookie season. He has been running up front, but just shy of getting that first win."
As of Aug. 11th they had 22 entries, including Dennis and Alex Prunty.
